Age Spots Cause

Question by Trouble: what would cause my 2005 dodge neon not to start.?
the car clicks like the battery is dead but it is not and the fuel pump works and it cranks ever once in a while and i pulled the positive post off and it died and someone said that it was the alternator but someone told me it could be my computer and i really dont think it is the computer because would it not give me other problems. I am a single mom and a college student and i need all the help i can get. the battery is about 6 months old it will not crank on it’s own i have to jump it off so i need some help because it is bad when it does not want to crank and i can hook it up to a battery charger for about an hour and it might and it might not. Could it be a shortage some where i mean the short age to my taillights is some where and i think it might be where it is and i do not have a fuse it the spot for the tail lights . so if someone has an idea please let me know i will sure try it

  1. dodge man says:

you really shouldn’t have removed the battery cable from it and it running that can easily spike the computer and do damage to it,you can’t do that to the newer cars because the electronics are real sensitive to voltage change and current spikes, you might have a starter relay going bad or a bad battery or a bad alternator but removing the cable isn’t a good for it,jump start it and take it to any parts store and have them check the alternator and battery on it,good luck on it.
