Question by moontrikle: What causes skin to become bumpy and hard?
My grandmother’s skin has become hard and bumpy with a patchwork of different colored and textured (tan, white, cream, rough, smooth, scaly) spots. She is 78 years old and her doctor says it is a normal aging process in some people. She is embarassed by it and sees it coming to her face and hands. Can anything help prevent it or cure it? What causes it?

Just age dearheart. Have her consult with a dermatologist if it bothers here that much. Perhaps he could help.
