Question by Rachel!: Which season is the sun its strongest in Michigan?
I know that question is worded awkwardly, but what I mean to ask is more so, when am I more likely to get a stronger sun burn as well? There have been times where I’ve laid out in the spring and gotten the worst burn all season. I know that it could just be the first time I was really exposing myself, but, my mom used to tell me it was stronger in the spring and I was wondering if that’s true, or what factors go into this? *don’t worry, I almost always wear sunblock, I’m not trying to get melanoma”

Thank you!

Best answer:

Answer by Cindy
Definitely summer! That’s when Michigan is closest to the sun. I’d probably put it around the summer solstice, June 21.

You are just more vulnerable in the spring because you haven’t built up a tan yet. Also, if there is a wind the sun can be very strong but you don’t notice because you are not that hot.

Skin Cancer Cutaneous T-cell Lymphoma Patch Stage

2011

Skin Cancer

Dr. Shane Chapman, MD discusses Skin Cancer Cutaneous T-cell Lymphoma Patch Stage. See more at www.dermnet.com PLEASE RATE AND COMMENT!!! Early patch stage CTCL can resemble eczema or atopic dermatitis and may be misdiagnosed for years. Unlike eczema, these lesions are rarely pruritic. The flat, pink to red scaly atrophic, mottled telangiectatic patches occur primarily on the lower trunk, thighs, and breasts in women. They may be fixed and stable for years and may resolve spontaneously. Patches vary in size. Early on in the disease, the histology may not be diagnostic. On average, 3 to 6 large excisional biopsies over 6 months, may be required to confirm the diagnosis. Persistent eczema or unresponsive inflammatory skin diseases should have a biopsy to confirm the diagnosis and rule out CTCL.

I need to find out how to get (NOT get RID of) a sunburn really fast (long story). How do you GET a sunburn without using oil and without going to a tanning bed? I’m not planning to get a sunburn so spare me the “you’ll get skin cancer” lecture.

Husband told brain cancer is terminal and already at Stage 4?

Liver Spots Treatment

Question by babsho60: Husband told brain cancer is terminal and already at Stage 4?
Your comment: My husband suddenly became very dizzy four months ago (May, 2010), began losing weight and feeling terrible. Dr. diagnosed him as having vertigo, but he was still losing weight. Finally, thank God, we saw the Dr.’s nurse-practicioner. She ordered x-rays and ct. scan which found spots on his lung. From there we went to a lung specialist who ordered a lung biopsy for 20 July. He had to go into hospital for severe impaction so that biopsy was postponed until first week of August. Since then it has been a roller-coaster ride of Oncologist visits, and then a Radiologist. He is to begin radiation treatments Mon. Aug. 30. He must have had this for quite some time for it has spread to his brain. He has both small cell and non-small cell cancer. I blame myself for not being more pro-active earlier when he was first dizzy in May and demanding x-rays. My husband will have a little more time because of the radiation treatments (10). The Oncologist did not even suggest chemo because the cancer has already attacked his sternum, lungs and liver. Right now I am dealing with anger issues against myself and his regular doctor who was so quick to dismiss it as just another case of vertigo. We even went to an ear, nose and throat specialist who said the same thing. Please give me the tools to help me deal with this and be an even better care-giver. We have been married 46 years and I sure wanted to have him around for quite a few more

Best answer:

Answer by tired person
This is so sad and unfair. Don’t blame yourself too much… you’re not psychic. You were probably just good at hoping for the best. That’s a quality to love in a person. The doctor should have definitely done better, but that part has always been out of your control. You two have been married longer than I’ve been alive so I don’t think I can wrap my head around it, even. I would say try to forget about anger, or put the anger off for later, because it will do nothing for you, you don’t need another poison. Make the time you do have all about each other.

Radiation therapy means energy that doesn’t break DNA bonds. Cancer is not an issue, period.

Laser hair removal is usually not permanent, as any ethical practitioner will tell you. You may well grow hair down the line, which may reach the point where you’ll want to touch it up from time to time. Still, most patients are quite happy with the results.

Take care.
