Question by INVADER: Let’s talk about so called…..racial profiling.?
1. When it comes to illegal immigration on the southern border it’s most being caused my Hispanics or Latinos that are mostly coming from Mexico. So what is wrong with focusing on Hispanic or Latino’s when it’s Hispanic or Latino faces we are looking for as opposed to someone with blond hair and blue eyes or Red hair and freckles? Of course racial profiling is going to take place until we gain control over whatever state has been hardest hit by the plight of illegal immigration. This same PC game is played when it comes to terrorism, when we all know damn well that 9 times out of 10 the people we are looking for are going to be “young Arab men” and not 90 year old grandma from Sweden.
2. Isn’t Affirmative Action a form of racial profiling? I mean if it’s wrong for the police to racially profile a black man and pull him over because he’s black, then it should be equally as wrong for the Affirmative Action police to pull over a black man to give him a job because he’s black. Correct?
3. Isn’t is a form of racial profiling when one accuses millions of fellow Americans of all being racist simply because they belong to a political movement that is mostly white “especially” when people all ready have this preconceived notion of what a racist is automatically is going to be?
If you’re going to say that it’s racial profiling to say that “people with Hispanic faces” are all illegal or mat bey illegal simply because their Hispanic or Latino, then it also has to be racial profiling to say that “all white people are racist” or may be racist living in America because they have the face that you feel is most likely to be racist.
4. If we were going to look for racist in America, would you have a problem racially profiling all white people as the only suspects and no one else?

1. It’s true most illegal immigrants in America are Mexican/South American, but many legal citizens in America are Hispanic as well, and nobody should have to prove they are citizens on demand from police
I fully understand that most Hispanics are here legally, but at the same time, Hispanics make up the vast majority of the illegal immigrant problem in the U.S. So for now it only makes sense for Hispanics to prove they are here legally until we gain at least some control over the southern border. My opinion of course.
I call it a pacifier for paranoid racists, but it won’t last long, with over 80% of it belong to Indian reservations, just wait for it to backfire, soon, very soon.
This is just the type of reactionary response I would expect coming from a leftist.

Racial profiling is when federal laws exist that REQUIRE businesses and schools to discriminate against whites BY RACE. Please show me any law that specifically requires discrimination against any other race.

3. Not sure what generality you’re talking about, but I certainly don’t accuse people of being racist simply based on their group membership, unless that group is an avowed racist group.

So basically the only relevant point you made is in 1. and the rest was irrelevant.
As ALL of the illegal aliens crossing the border between Arizona and Mexico are from Mexico or else where in central America it is not racial profiling to look for illegal aliens among the hispanic population.
Why would you investigate a blue eyed blond with no accent to see if they came from Mexico!
I think the difference that you are missing is the fact that profiling of latinos will actually cause them a lot of harm, will violate their rights and will have very negative real effects… when someone profiles tea baggers/republicans to all be racist, surely it might be a pretty mean thing to do, but you will not get arrested, searched, detained and taken to jail, even if for an hour or so because of it… see the difference? you might not like it, but it doesn’t actually really harm you in any way
and I’m very against affirmative action, I think people should all be equal and equally work for things they get… affirmative action is stupid… there are poor black people, white people, latinos, whatever… its poor people that need help, not a certain race…

Those not born here or came here by legal means are squatters get them out of here quit letting the illegals drain our system.

I am a retired Police Officer from the Ca. Az Mexico border. The majority of the population in the border cities are Hispanic. 9 times out of 10 when I made a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation it was a Hispanic. Not because of “profiling” but because of majority. I never received a complaint of racial profiling in my 30 years service. In fact my cities fathers and the neighboring cities father were Hispanic. They all ordered their officers to detain illegal aliens and turn them over to the Border Patrol. The request for enforcement was made by the Hispanic community leaders. After word got out that our cities were not the route to take north, that you would be arrested and turned over to the Border Patrol the illegals changed their routes to the west and our crime rates went down.
Police Officers have the legal right to ask anyone for identification. They also have the legal right to detain and take to jail anyone that cannot or will not identify themselves. This law enabled me to detain a Los Angeles gang member that gave me false I.D. and then refused to identify himself. After I took him to jail Ca. I.D. identified him as a person wanted for murder in L.A.
1. You’re talking about ignoring someone on the basis of race (not suspecting the 90-year-old Swedish woman). The problem is about suspecting people for no reason other than their race.
2. No, that’s not correct. I don’t see what response I can make, given that you provided no rational justification for your conclusion that the two are equivalent. Really it’s the same misunderstanding as you made in your first point.
3. Racial profiling is, as the name suggests, profiling on the basis of race. A political movement is not a race. I really cannot believe that you actually need someone to tell you that.
4. Yes, I would have a problem with that. That’s consistent with my stance on racial profiling generally.
1) believe it or not ,Mexicans are not the only people who illegally immigrate to America through its southern borders. 2)Affirmative action has nothing to do with racial profiling .If not for jim crow there would be no need for affirmative action .Jim crow was the racial profiling that say because you are black you can’t have these jobs because they were for white men .The racial profiling came into play when whites say things like we are the best qualified for these jobs because we are white when in reality the young black man applying for the jobs were more educated than the men who had been working those jobs for the past 30 years. 3) You know when people live and experienced first hand what these people do it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out what to expect .That doesn’t mean that it is always true because everybody is not a racist .when people have so many hate groups and they focus that hate in your direction what would you think of that group and where do you think that you stand with them. People can pretend that it doesn’t exist all that they want to .You may be a young person and in your life time you may not have seen it but I know about the racist things that have happened in my life time and right or wrong I know who to expect it from White people in America have been responsible for a lot of racist acts .There were lynchings of black by white as little as 40 years ago . They made it a family outing .They even brought their children so they can see how it is done Jim crow as far back as the 1960s and of there was that slavery thing. You know some things people do are so bad that they just can’t seem to live them down .It takes time to heal some wounds.I KNOW THAT NOT ALL WHITES ARE RACIST ,just like I know that all blacks a not on welfare.The best that any of us can do is to take people as we see them and not lump everybody of any race in to the same things . I think anybody can be a racist but lets face the facts ,whites have a bad repetition for being racist and blacks know that any time whites make a do or die decision concerning blacks its most likely to be die ! I know illegal immigration is wrong but I can understand why it happens,.people do what they have to do to feed their families .It would be fairer to put pressure on the Mexican gov. because they encourage illegal immigration .
