Age Spots Cause
Question by Stumped: I have sensitve spot on my head that hurts to touch & headaches occur when touched. CT was normal. I’m Stumped
The spot is on right side of head towards the center. When touching it, brushing hair or even water hitting it in shower causes it to hurt. The pain feels like a build up of pressure. If touched to often will cause headaches. I have headaches about everyother day as is. The pain has been going on since March. Had a CT scan and came back fine, dr. said it must be a soft spot and shrugged it off. I am 23 and have never heard of a soft spot for this age. Any suggestions will help, b/c this is getting to be very bothersome.

Sounds like it could be temporal arteritis. Have them check a sed rate and the temporal artery on the effected side. You will want to see a neurologist for this. This is not something to play around with. Temporal arteritis can lead to blindness. Get checked as soon as possible. Good luck.

a study of acupuncture might give you some insight. i know of different spots i can push on my head that can cause some big pain.
I’m studying massage therapy, and I would suggest seeing a therapeutic massage therapist for some cranial work… and set up a treatment plan! There are many advances in this field. My daughter used to get chronic migraines, and since she’s had cranial work, she doesn’t get them anymore. Try it, you might like it, and most insurances actually have massage therapy covered and it will cost a copay. Look into it!
With the symptoms you have and if your eyes are sensitive to light, you’re experiencing a migraine.
I have the same thing, unfortunately they come and go as they please and no regular pain reliever will make them go away.
I had one that lasted 5 days a couple of months ago, I had a CT scan and everything was OK.
Here’s a good site for information; http://www.migraines.org/
Good luck
OK… Do you wear sun glasses on your head? I have the same problem as you. The sun glasses on my head give me such a pain. If you do! stop doing it for a while and see if the head aches go away. If they don’t seek more intensive help!
take care!
