Peter Boasberg, MD – Melanoma Program, The Angeles Clinic and Research Institute is currently involved in a phase II trial of two medications – Abraxane and Avastin. At the Melanoma Education Symposium in Culver City, CA on Saturday (3/26/11) Dr. Boasberg boasted about the affects of his trials that are being used to treat metastatic melanoma. Abraxane is injected into the bloodstream and, in essence, eats the bad cells. Avastin inhibits the growth of new blood cells that would feed the tumor.
