Age Spots Cause

Question by Preston: Creams For Brown Spots? Scars?
Could someone provide me a definition of what a ‘scar’ is when talking about blemishes and such? I’m kind of confused on that.

Also, does anyone know of any creams/medicine/etc to use to get rid of ‘brown spots’? By brown spots, I don’t mean age spots or brown spots caused by the sun. I’m talking about when a blemish goes away. Is that considered a scar as well? And are these ‘brown spots’ removeable? Please help, I really want them cleared :( ANY info will help and I will select a best answer when I see one.

ive studied skincare for a few years at college so i’ll give u any info i know.

a scar is usually either raised up off the surface of the skin (a keloid) or its sunken into the skin (a depressed scar – icepick scars, chicken pock scars for example). these types of scars arent simple to get rid of but can be done with treatments of lasers, injections and chemical peels.

a scar is rarely level with the skins surface so what u have (dark marks on the surface) arent true scars. they’re called pseudo scars or mock scars. they look permanent but they fade away completely over time. they can take only a few months on some people to fade away or they can take 2 years to fade on others. it all depends on ur own body. they wont be there forever =] they will go completely. they are distressing though, i used to get bright red marks left over from acne so i know how u feel.

    things that help:
Emu Oil – obviously from an emu. its been used for years to heal any kind of sore. its a very strong anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory.

Tamanu Oil – meant to be good for red/brown acne marks. smells very bad though.

TCA – a skin peel that causes the top layer(s) of skin to dry up and peel off, revealing new skin underneath. very effective for getting rid of acne scars, marks, wrinkles and damaged skin. can be uncomfortable as it does burn abit and causes redness for 3-4 days as it peels. be careful with this treatment. never apply a 100% strength TCA (someone did that and ended up in hospital with burns) always start with a lower percentage. 12%-20% strength should be fine.

^^^^^ both the Emu Oil and Tamanu Oil is available off Ebay. the TCA peel can be bought off a few sites on the net but it might be best getting that professionally done.

    good luck ! =] x
