First time the pain started to flare up in my index finger on the left while driving to a psychiatrist (which I was anxious about; anxiety disorders taking Lexapro; also stressed). My index began to twitch and tingled. Before I went I was writing for 2 hours (left handed), and playing guitar for about an hour.

Right now I’m dealing with numbness, pain (sort of a pinch-like pain), soreness and tingling in my left and somewhat tingling (pins and needle feeling) in my right hand. All of the symptoms are occurring on the top of both hands, and tingling on all of my fingers on the left (also sometimes a small shooting pain in my fingers. I have sore spots between the index and middle knuckles, and below the pinky knuckle. If something touches my forearm it feels like it’s getting worse. My left hand also cramps slightly. I was thinking that it could be Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, as I play guitar and I’m left handed, but it’s unusual/near impossible for it to affect all of my fingers. I went to my physician and he wrote it off as a side effect from a lack of CO2 by hyperventilation, but without ordering any tests/consulting with a neurologist (He did tests on hand strength, reflexes, etc.). I’ve been breathing deeply and slowly since the appointment.

I’m extremely worried about my left hand since I basically do everything with my left. So I’m asking does anxiety/stress cause these effects normally or would there be a different cause. Thank you.

Normally anxiety would not cause the kind of symptoms you have going on but I would recommend getting another opinion as well to see what they think could be going on.

Question by snake11: Question about my teeth – question for dentist people?
I turned 22 in June. Not sure if my age matters. But anyways, I was brushing my teeth today. After I rinsed my mouth with water when I got done brushing, I noticed my gums were red. You know when you cook a steak? You know how sometimes when steak can be bloody red? Well my gums were kinda red. At the TOP of my mouth is where it was red. It wasn’t red near my teeth. You have to lift my upper lip up in order to see the red. And if i pull my lower lip down yuo can see some dark red spots but my gums are not sore or anything. My mouth feels just fine. What should i do?

I cancelled my 6 month cleaning appointment because i’m no longer egilible for the dental insurance that my parents had for me cause of my age. So I applied for my own dental insurnace thruogh delta dental and it doesn’t go into affect until october 1st. It will cost me $ 90 to get a cleaning and the insurance will cover 60% if i wait till october 1st. what should i do? Just go and forget the insurance?

The spot is on right side of head towards the center. When touching it, brushing hair or even water hitting it in shower causes it to hurt. The pain feels like a build up of pressure. If touched to often will cause headaches. I have headaches about everyother day as is. The pain has been going on since March. Had a CT scan and came back fine, dr. said it must be a soft spot and shrugged it off. I am 23 and have never heard of a soft spot for this age. Any suggestions will help, b/c this is getting to be very bothersome.

Sounds like it could be temporal arteritis. Have them check a sed rate and the temporal artery on the effected side. You will want to see a neurologist for this. This is not something to play around with. Temporal arteritis can lead to blindness. Get checked as soon as possible. Good luck.

i am dying from skin cancer (melanoma), this is the beginning of my story — brought to you by Joshua Kline and “Diaries of a Dying Man”

Question by Kristi: What is a safe website to buy genuine tanning lotions from?
I tried asking this question in a “tanning forum,” but they are pro-salon and wont allow anyone to talk about online lotion buying. Great.

The prices at the salon are outrageous. Yeah, I realize that they need to cover the cost of the machines, rent, etc…but I want a quality lotion, and I don’t want to be ripped off. I already pay $ 80 a month to tan there, for Pete’s sake. I’m not going to pay another $ 120 for an 8oz bottle of lotion.

The girls at the salon preach that online lotion stores water their lotions down, or that they’re not the genuine product…but many sites I’ve looked at claim they offer products that are genuine and manufactured by their respective companies – for 50% of the price that salons charge.

Do any of you have experience shopping at an online lotion store that sells genuine products for a reasonable price? I already have a favorite brand, so I don’t need any advice on which lotion to buy, I just need a respectable site to buy from.

(** Save the “you’re going to die from skin cancer” remarks. I’ve been tanning indoors for 9 years (I’m 26). I NEVER burn my skin. I don’t take it to the extreme. I don’t look like an Oompa Loompa. I don’t even look all that “tan.” I simply don’t look “pale.” I get checked for any suspicious moles or freckles by my dermatologist every 2 months. I have never had any suspicious moles or freckles. In fact, she compliments me every time on how great my skin looks and how it’s nice to see someone being responsible when it comes to their skin. I live a very healthy lifestyle which includes wearing sunscreen outdoors. Please do not chastise me for my choices simply because you do not agree with them. That isn’t what this question is about. Thank you. **)
note: I cannot buy lotions directly from the distributors because they only sell to salon owners.

Amazon.com is a huge site, and they will have lots of tanning lotion at good prices. WalMart and Target will have it also.

I have blackheads on my nose and chin and I just can’t seem to get rid of them!! I cleanse, and use spot cream at night, and sometimes use those cleansing strip things, but it doesnt work!
I really want to get rid of them and i dont know how cause i’ve had them for ages. (im 14)

Try an astringent or toner. It will help clear out the pores better.
